Freelance web designers create websites that engage customers in order to enhance a company's online presence. Common responsibilities include creating web site designs, logos, banners, and graphics; changing code, software, or graphics of existing websites; and meeting with clients to discuss project requirements and progress.
Common skills include design skills, copywriting, knowledge of front-end web design languages (HTML and CSS), and familiarity with website builders (Wordpress, Squarespace, Wix, Weebly). There is no required course of study for becoming web designer, however some clients may seek candidates who have a background in design and a strong portfolio.
