Customer support representatives ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and retention by performing a variety of tasks, such as answering and referring inquiries, solving complaints, giving instructions and promoting products and services.

Common skills include efficient interaction with other people, good communication abilities, courtesy, patience, problem-solving abilities and computer skills. No formal education is required for this position, although candidates holding a college degree may be preferred by some employers.
